What's worked for me is going onto the App Store, searching for the 'waiting' apps, then clicking on the 'download from iCloud icon', let it download.

It freezes all the time, maps will not work half the time. This is by far the worst apple product I have owned. If Steve Jobs was alive, he would be firing people left and right.
I have had two calls to service for a brand new laptop and came very close to having to reinstall everything on it.
The only thing I can think to do is to wipe the phone and start over and I should not have to do that on a device that is less than 6 months old.
